This sauce is so easy and so simple that I almost never use anything else anymore. For the longest time I used jarred spaghetti sauce but this version makes the perfect amount for 2 pizzas so I don’t have half a jar of sauce sitting around in my fridge.
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Stir it together and it’s ready to put on the crusts. You don’t even have to heat it first! If you made your crusts ahead of time or have a store bought version you can have dinner on the table in about 20 minutes. Whoo hoo!
Kenny worked a great deal for me tonight at CVS. Since we got it done early in the week I thought I would share. 🙂
Duracell batteries – on sale for $2.99 – used $0.75 coupon
Dove soap – on sale for $0.97
Allegra allergy medicine – on sale for $6.99 – received $6.99 Extra Bucks
Pedia Care cold medicine – $7.99 – used $3.00 instant coupon plus $1.00 printable manufacturer’s coupon
Nature’s Own Vitamin C (2 bottles) – on sale Buy One Get One Free – used 2 $3.00 coupons that came in the mail
Kenny also used $8.58 in Extra Bucks from a previous trip plus a $5 off $25 purchase coupon we received in our e-mail inbox.
Before sales and coupons the total was $38.98. Grand total Kenny paid out of pocket including tax: $2.84. Plus he received $6.99 in Extra Bucks for the next trip. Whoo hoo!! Way to go Kenny. Thank you, honey. 🙂 The best part is that we actually needed everything on the list so in addition to my sweet husband I am also SO thankful for the Lord’s provision.
Hope you can go work a great deal at CVS this week, too!!
Walmart has a few smokin’ deals this week.
Apples are $1 per pound.
Potatoes are $1.99 for a 10 pound bag.
Boneless skinless chicken breast is $1.78 per pound!
Ground beef is $8.50 for a 5 pound chub.
We’re going to be eating much better this week than I thought. Generally I’m not a Walmart fan but this week I’m doing the happy dance!
I’ve been a long time fan of Money Saving Mom. She’s the one that first got me excited about CVS. The only thing is that she doesn’t live in a Publix grocery store area. I recently found a site that specialized in Publix deals!! Yea!!
I Heart Publix lists the weekly deals plus coupon match ups. I’m thrilled. Plus there is a sister site called I Heart Saving Money that is equally good. This week they are having a Yoplait Summer Cool Down Gift Pack contest. The only thing you have to do to enter is leave a comment here. Check it out! The gift pack looks really fun! Good luck!!
I’m so excited. I called our telephone carrier (who also has our high speed internet service) and told them I was looking to shave dollars off our budget. They looked at their updated 2009 plans and compared it to the plan I signed up on 5 years ago. WITHOUT CHANGING A THING they switched me to the new plan which saves me $24 a month on my telephone bill. Whoo hoo!! Definitely worth the call. 🙂
